Animal Crossing Tip: pay off Harv’s Island stores ASAP

The shops that open up on Harv’s Island are invaluable, but paying for them is a pain—unless you take a shortcut!

I’m Bobby Jack, I’m a big fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and I’m putting together a series of tips for the game.

Each of the eight shops on Harv’s Island needs 100,000 bells before it can open. Actually, seven: Harriet’s hair salon is free! You can also only pay off one shop at a time, which means making a lot of large payments, day after day.

If you’ve got a large cash reserve, though, why not pay off almost the full amount up-front?

Paying each gyroid just one bell short of the full amount means they’ll all be on the brink of opening:

Returning each day, you’ll only need a single bell from now on—much more convenient!
